The Protection of Personal Information Act Update

The South African Government has approved new legislation, the Protection of Personal Information Act, which regulates how organisations may use data subject’s personal information. The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) enforcement as promulgated by the President of South Africa in June 2020 came into effect on 01 July 2021.


As a result, The Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA),  would like to request for your consent to continue using your personal information in our mailing list for the purpose of communicating BANKSETA information. You are requested to send an email to info@bankseta.org.za should you no longer wish to receive BANKSETA communication. Upon receipt of your request the team will remove your details from the BANKSETA mailing list.

Please note that the BANKSETA is very cautious with the protection of stakeholders’ information and the only third parties that personal information is shared with, are those that the BANKSETA has partnerships with for which the relevant stakeholders are beneficiaries or are associated with the BANKSETA in various ways and have provided consent for their information to be shared. We would like to ensure you that personal information is not shared with third parties without your authorisation.

Should you still welcome receipt of BANKSETA communication, please note that there is no action  required from you.
