Discretionary Grant Funding Window for Career Development Practitioners’ Workshops – 2026/27

Description of Funding Window

Kindly note that BANKSETA has opened a Discretionary Grant Funding Window for Career Development Practitioners’ Workshops for the 2026/27 financial year.

The funding window is open to the following eligible public education and training institutions:

  • Public Universities;
  • Public Universities of Technology (UoTs);
  • Public Technical and Vocational Education and Training Colleges (TVETs); and
  • Public Community Education and Training Colleges (CETs).

The funding window opens on Monday, 31 August 2026 and closes on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 16h00.

Purpose of the Funding Window

The Career Development Practitioners’ Workshops Funding Window aims to support the delivery of career development and career advice interventions.

The programme will fund one-day, in-person workshops for teachers, retired teachers and Career Development Practitioners to equip them with the information, resources and tools required to provide effective career guidance to learners and other beneficiaries.

Submission Information

Applications and all required supporting documents must be submitted online through the BANKSETA SIMS platform using the prescribed BANKSETA templates:

Applicants must take note of the following:

  • The relevant Career Development Practitioners’ Workshops Funding Window must be selected on SIMS.
  • The prescribed application form must be completed in full and uploaded to SIMS.
  • Only one application form per applicant is permitted; however, applicants may apply for more than one delivery site within the application.
  • Applications submitted through any channel other than the prescribed SIMS submission process will not be accepted.
  • Applications close at 16h00 on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
  • No late applications will be accepted.

Briefing and SIMS Training

Training on how to register and apply online through the BANKSETA SIMS platform will be provided. Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend the briefing session on Monday, 07 September 2026
