Discretionary Grant: Rural Development Funding Window

Description of Funding Window

BANKSETA invites applications from qualifying stakeholders for the implementation of programmes to grow skills for rural development through BANKSETA accredited skills programmes and Learnerships.

The following applicants are eligible to apply under this funding window

  1. Primary Providers accredited by BANKSETA whose accreditation status will be valid for the duration of the programme
  2. Secondary providers whose programme approval status will be valid for the duration of the programme

Applications must be for skills development in rural areas and training must be face to face in the rural area applied for. The training provider’s business must be located / registered in the province where the planned training will take place.

Briefing Session
BANKSETA will host a virtual briefing session on the 7th of May 2026 where training will be offered regarding online submissions. Only qualifying stakeholder must attend.

Submission Information

Applications must be received in the specified timeframes; no late submissions will be accepted. All applications must be submitted via SIMS (https://sims.bankseta.org.za/).
